A Credit Union’s Three-Dimensional Magazine Ad

Finally, a credit union-sponsored magazine ad that beats all others I’ve ever seen – banks included.
Needless to say, as an ex-bank marketer and now a prolific bank marketing blogger, I see a tremendous number of marketing pieces from banks and credit unions. I’m drawn to them like a moth to light.
I need them to keep me informed and for my blogs.
This particular print ad is special.
Not only is it a double-page spread, it includes a card insert that gives the ad a three-dimensional look as you turn the page and encounter the ad.
I took a photo of it so you can see it as I saw it in the April/May 2013 issue of sactown magazine – a local glossy targeting the more affluent consumers living in the greater Sacramento area.
Realistically, it’s impossible to page past this intrusive ad. It demands that you stop and take a closer look at it.
