The Top 10 Technology Trends HR Needs to Know

Embracing technology. It’s essential for any company to remain competitive. And in HR departments, it’s no different.

Last weekend, members of the 2013 SHRM Technology and HR Management Expertise Panel met to determine the top 10 technology trends for HR. Unveiling the results yesterday, their list emphasizes a need for HR to stay ahead of the technological curve and embrace new technologies as a means to improve the company’s bottom line – both financially and culturally.

So, how do you stack up? Take a look at the panel’s list and see how many of the trends you’re already aware of and/or taking advantage of:

1.       Assurance through evidence that HR data is secure in the cloud

The cloud. It’s much more secure than you think, according to panel member Paul Belliveau, SPHR. Companies like ADP and even the federal government have utilized the cloud for years. If it’s secure enough to store sensitive payroll and government information, it can do the same for your HR department.

2.       Gamification as a way to communicate, engage, train, attract and retain talent

If you want to engage Millennials, using games with animation is a great way to communicate with employees.
