What You Can Do Now to Reduce Your Technology Budget?

by Robin Remines

Wondering how you can REDUCE your technology spend while improving your IT performance? This post is for you.

Very Intelligent I.T. Director

I’m joking right? Not really. We all look for those “big breaks” in our careers – those rare opportunities where cool technologies collide serendipitously with cost efficiencies. If you’ve searched for ways to meet the growing pressure of reduced technology budgets while sustaining a viable technology infrastructure then this post is for you.

So how can hosted services become your secret budget weapon?  First, recognize the broad scope of what “hosted” services means. Hosted services range from hosting applications such as email or hosted desktops (VDI) to servers and core systems. Some credit unions immerse themselves completely with hosted data centers where your critical servers and applications are run virtually via a cloud service.  Sound confusing? It’s really not. If you are already familiar with service bureaus (think of your online banking provider or perhaps your core), you are already utilizing “hosted” services. For in-depth information on all things “hosted” visit our blog at www.ongoingoperations.com/blog.
